If golf is your passion, then Sarasota National may be what you are looking for. The only golf inclusive community in the West Villages, a variety of homes are available, either with or without membership to the golf club. Featuring the 18 hole championship golf course, Sarasota National was started by WCI Communities in 2007. It is one of the most amenity rich new communities, and a definitely must-see for avid golfers. WCI was acquired by Lennar in 2016, and Lennar is currently offering a variety of home types including single-family, Coach Villa, and Golf Estate homes priced from $265K and ranging in size from 1590 to 3198 square feet. Some of the homes are in the Golf Area and membership in the Golf Club is required, although I believe the additional HOA fee in the Golf Estate section is less than $200 per month, which includes unlimited golfing (cart fees extra). The community is size-able at 2400 acres, with 1300 acres dedicated to open space, and will have up to 1600 homes at build out. The Resort Center is 32,000 square feet with three buildings including the 7350 foot fitness center, spa treatment rooms and men’s and women’s locker rooms, as well as the Palm Club Restaurant. There is a beach entry resort pool, tiki bar, tennis, bocce ball, pickle ball and a dog park. The Golf Club also has its own 5336’ Club House with its own restaurant and bar. The HOA fees and CDD fees vary based on the home type and locations within the community so verify with builder prior to purchase. Drive time to Manasota Beach 17 minutes, 21 to Englewood Beach, 22 to Venice, 44 minutes to SRQ airport, and 41 or so to downtown Sarasota.
